Our Environmental Stewardship
At AGM Ventures Enterprises, Inc., we fully understand the gravity of this responsibility. We are committed to safeguarding our natural resources from exploitation and abuse. We acknowledge the need for responsible stewardship within the wood industry, aimed at preserving our forests' integrity, ensuring equitable access to natural resource utilization and development, and guaranteeing a sustainable supply of wood and other forest products.
Our Partnership with DENR
In alignment with our commitment, we actively support the government's call to revive our natural resources. AGM Ventures collaborates closely with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in various projects aimed at the development, conservation, and rehabilitation of idle lands. Through our Integrated Forest Management Agreement (IFMA) application, we were granted a 1000-hectare property in Tagkawayan, Quezon, dedicated to aiding DENR in these efforts.
Community Empowerment
Our mission extends beyond environmental preservation. We are dedicated to improving the lives of the communities we touch. In rural Brgy. Maguibway, we are building a cooperative, reflecting AGM's commitment to community betterment. Additionally, we offer financial support to the barangay's activities and have donated materials for the rehabilitation of their chapel and the construction of a school library.
Education Initiatives
AGM Ventures proudly runs an 'Adopt-a-School' program, providing 165 elementary students with essential school supplies for an entire year. We also sponsor 16 high school and 5 college scholars. Furthermore, we've donated sports equipment for the youth basketball program and funded their fish pond initiative. These endeavors reflect our commitment to holistic community development.
Promoting Sustainable Farming
As part of our sustainable approach, we launched a livelihood campaign encouraging residents to cultivate fast-growing trees on their idle lands. We provide free seedlings and commit to purchasing the trees upon maturity, alleviating the financial burden on farmers. AGM Ventures takes care of harvesting and marketing, ensuring a win-win for the community and the environment.
Challenges and Rewards
Undoubtedly, our journey has been challenging – financially, physically, and emotionally, from the application process to project implementation. Few have heeded the government's call to aid in forest rehabilitation, but the rewards have been abundant. Our interactions with communities have rekindled our awareness of what we've lost: our innocence and culture.
A Humble Beginning
Our plantation site, a one-hour hike from the nearest town, lacks electricity and easy access. Our dedicated team, including the project director, chief forester, and helpers, sacrificed comfort to live in a small hut during the project. Even our President & CEO, the project's founder, endures a grueling 6-hour road trip and a one-hour trek almost weekly.
